Chinese American Society of Certified Public Accountants

Our Story

Established in 1985, the Chinese-American Society of CPAs (CASCPA) holds a distinguished legacy and has emerged as a preeminent accounting professional association within the East Coast’s Chinese-American community. Recognizing the need for a formal structure, the organization was formally incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1987 under the laws of New York State. In a testament to its commitment to serving the community, CASCPA was granted the coveted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service under IRC section 501(c)(6) in the same year. This esteemed recognition further solidifies CASCPA’s standing as a respected institution dedicated to excellence in the field of accounting and to its members.

Through the ongoing participation and support of its members and the invaluable contributions of their families and friends, CASCPA has flourished.

Today, the Society boasts a formidable membership of over 200 accomplished practitioners, including CPAs, IRS-enrolled agents, lawyers, bankers, and professionals from associated industries, with the majority specializing in public accounting. This impressive representation of expertise and experience solidifies CASCPA’s position as a beacon of excellence, embodying the highest standards of professionalism and enriching the accounting landscape within the Chinese-American community.

At the heart of our Society lies a commitment to creating a profound and lasting impact on Chinese-American communities and beyond.

Throughout our journey, we have forged meaningful partnerships with distinguished organizations and associations, working hand in hand to elevate financial literacy within the Chinese-American community. Our core principle of giving back drives us to make a difference through our direct efforts and by extending support to other impactful non-profit organizations. Through our diligence in serving, caring, and rebuilding livelihoods, we aspire to nurture a community that thrives, embodies resilience, and embraces a shared vision of prosperity.

Our Mission

Guided by our founding principles, our mission is to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth, equipping our members with the tools and resources needed to excel in their careers, while nurturing a vibrant community that thrives on collective expertise.

CASCPA remains at the forefront of championing accountants, empowering them to reach new heights of professional achievement and building a legacy of excellence that resonates far beyond our distinguished membership. We are committed to supporting our members throughout their careers via a comprehensive range of educational initiatives, networking platforms, and practice-building opportunities.

Giving back to the community

The American Chinese Society of Certified Public Accountants is deeply dedicated to community engagement and social responsibility, extending our mission far beyond the realm of numbers and accounting expertise. Our primary objective is to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Foremost among our beliefs is the moral obligation to give back to the community. Each year, we receive substantial support from various organizations, enabling us to grow stronger and better equipped to assist our fellow CPAs. Simultaneously, we recognize our unique responsibility in aiding those less fortunate. We are committed to supporting our local community both financially and by dedicating our time to promote financial literacy. Our financial contributions address immediate needs, while our investments in time, skills, and resources aim to foster a more equitable society.

Throughout the years, we have been fortunate to collaborate with many great non-profit organizations such as but not limited to Garden of Hope and Chinatown Manpower, channeling our financial support toward a noble cause: ending domestic violence in our community and promote economic self-sufficiency. The partnership underscores our commitment to making a meaningful difference and reinforces our belief in the importance of giving back.
