About CASCPA
In 1985, The Chinese American Society of CPAs was founded and has continued its work in the greater New York area, including NYC’s Manhattan and Queens, as well as Nassau County, Long Island, NY. We are proud to serve the community through educational programs, in seminars and articles, to teach the general public on how to become better consumers when purchasing services from tax and accounting practitioners.
CASCPA History
The Chinese American Society of CPAs (CASCPA) was founded in 1985.
In 1987, it was formally incorporated in New York State as a not-for-profit corporation.
It was granted tax-exempt status under the IRC section 501(C)(6) by the Internal Revenue Service.
After 30 years of exceptional leadership, CASCPA is a leading accounting professional association in the Chinese American community on the East Coast.
The Society now consists of 100+ CPAs, lawyers, bankers, and other professionals from associated industries, with majority members conducting public accounting practice.
At the beginning of 2019, CASCPA was approved to become an NYS CPE sponsor.
Mission
The society is founded to enhance the professional standing of licensed accountants, to assist members by providing educational, networking and other practice building and career development opportunities.
The society also reaches out to serve the community by providing educational programs and seminars to teach the general public on how to become better consumers when purchasing services from tax and accounting practitioners.
We are able to provide high-quality CPEs at reasonable costs to our members. Specifically, we provide Ethics CPEs required by the state to renew a CPA license ever year. We are also committed to developing more networking opportunities among members. Associated members would be invited to all events whenever possible.
Growth
The CASCPA is about individual growth, community growth, and also the society’s own growth. Currently we have many CPA members in New York, and we are actively seeking to increase our membership in the the CPA profession.
